Romania’s Labor Inspectorate (Inspecția Muncii) is preparing to move to a fully digitalized system for interacting with the business community through a dedicated Virtual Private Space (SPV). The platform will become the sole official channel of communication between employers and the territorial labor inspectorates. Its launch will be accompanied by a regulation, currently in preparation, that will establish the enrollment requirement and a firm compliance deadline.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Implementation will be phased: adoption of the legislation, technical launch, gradual registration of companies, and finally, the complete elimination of paper documents. During the transition period, the SPV and traditional channels will run in parallel, and enrollment deadlines will be announced publicly before they become mandatory.
Through the SPV, inspection reports, compliance measures, approvals, incident investigation files, and documents requested by inspectors will be transmitted in both directions with a verified date and time.
Alongside this channel, the agency will use the SIAMC 2.0 analytics platform, which enables electronic data management and risk-based inspections driven by automated analysis. The system periodically recalculates risk indicators, cross-references existing information, and gives inspectors mobile access to data during on-site checks, allowing inspections to be targeted more precisely.
To ensure a smooth transition, employers are advised to obtain a qualified electronic signature, designate a responsible person, and digitize their internal records on employment documentation and occupational health and safety.
