The Ministry of Labor is preparing new maximum limits for nursery and meal vouchers

These set the maximum value of nursery and meal vouchers for the period October 2026 – March 2027. In short, there is good news for families with young children, whilst things remain the same for employees.
Nursery vouchers: the second increase this year
The first draft raises the monthly ceiling for nursery vouchers to 770 lei, 30 lei more than at present (740 lei). This is the second increase since 2026, following the one in April, when the amount rose from 710 lei.
If the bill is approved as it stands, parents will receive 60 lei more per month than at the start of the year. The new ceiling would apply up to and including March 2027.
Meal vouchers: the cap remains at 45 lei
The second draft bill maintains the maximum value of meal vouchers at 45 lei for each day worked, as is currently the case. Employers will be able to provide this amount without any changes between October 2026 and the end of March 2027.
What is set to happen
For the time being, the caps are merely proposals. In order for them to become official and be implemented, the orders must be signed by the Minister of Labor and published in the Official Gazette.
