Organizations in the transport sector can access cybersecurity grants of up to €60,000 through the first TRUNSPORT Open Call 1. The initiative is funded under the Digital Europe Programme and aims to strengthen the cyber resilience of transport infrastructure and other critical infrastructure.

The call is open to organizations in road, rail, air and maritime transport, as well as other entities that can contribute to the sector’s digital security. Eligible applicants include, among others, cybersecurity SMEs and startups, service providers, universities, public authorities and non-governmental organizations.
Projects may be submitted individually or as part of a consortium by entities established in EU Member States or countries participating in the European Economic Area.
What Funding Is Available?
The current call provides 21 grants, with funding of up to €60,000 per project. Funding is provided as a lump sum and may cover up to 50% of eligible costs.
Selected projects will have an implementation period of 9 months. The total budget of the TRUNSPORT initiative is €2.52 million, distributed across at least 42 grants in two rounds.
What Projects Can Be Funded?
Beneficiaries will have access to the Cyber Support Hub, a platform dedicated to assessing and strengthening cybersecurity. Areas covered include risk analysis, vulnerability monitoring, incident response, security testing and assessment of compliance with NIS2 requirements.
What Is the Application Deadline?
Applications for Open Call 1 can be submitted until 30 October 2026, according to the information published when the call was launched.
For transport organizations, the programme represents an opportunity to finance concrete cybersecurity measures and reduce the risks associated with the digitalization of critical infrastructure.
