Territorial Labour Inspectorates are intensifying inspection actions in the field of occupational safety and health (OSH) in order to reduce professional risks and increase awareness among employers and employees. These campaigns are carried out on a quarterly basis and target specific sectors: wholesale trade (excluding motor vehicles and motorcycles) – Q1–Q3, including catering, delivery and courier activities, as well as individual medical practices and outpatient clinics; the food industry – Q2–Q3; road transport – Q2–Q3; and exposure to hazardous chemical agents – Q3–Q4.
The objective of these inspections is prevention and the elimination of non-compliance that may affect employees’ safety and health. Inspectors verify how employers organize prevention and protection activities, assess occupational risks, provide worker training, and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment. Compliance with these obligations is essential for reducing workplace accidents, maintaining a safe working environment, and preventing legal or financial consequences for the company.
For employers, practical recommendations include: monitoring and planning internal checks in line with the established quarters, continuous training of employees on sector-specific risks, periodic risk assessments, and verification of protective equipment. Prevention and compliance with OSH legislation are not only legal obligations, but also key elements of a responsible organization that protects its employees and ensures business continuity.
