The Ministry of Labour and Social Solidarity (MMSS) has published, on 17 November 2022, in the decision-making transparency, the draft GD for the establishment of the minimum gross basic salary per country guaranteed in payment.
This normative act proposes that the minimum gross basic salary per country guaranteed in payment be increased to 3,000 lei per month starting January 1, 2023, representing an increase of 17.6% compared to December 2022.
We remind you that, according to HG 1071/2021, in 2022, the hourly rate is 15.239 lei/hour for a full work schedule of 167.333 hours per month. According to the draft HG, in 2023 the hourly rate will be 18,145 lei/hour for a full working program of 165,333 hours/month.
According to the background note of the draft law, in Romania there are currently about 856,830 employees benefiting from the guaranteed minimum gross wage of 2,550 lei, which represents about 16.27% of the total number of active employees – 5,265,252. Thus, 2,181,134 employees will benefit from the increase of the minimum basic wage of 3,000 lei.
